Textbook Worksheets ONLINE

Surfing around the PHS Math Department folder, I was able to locate a website which has the worksheets affiliated with our textbook: NYS Algebra. It is the Prentice Hall Website. To get there you may either click on the link below or click on the TEXT SHEETS link to the right underneath Ms. Ihrig's HOT PICKS!

You will need the following info:
Username: algebra
Password: stewart
(This is the log-in that Mr. Stewart's students use.)

Also, when I hand out a worksheet from these for a particular unit, I will also link them to the appropriate worksheet folder under Links for Algebra Students and/or Links for Math A2 Students.

See you all soon!

Ms. Ihrig.

Worksheets Online

Hi everyone!

Now, all of the worksheets I have created for both Algebra and Math A2 are located on the Web. I have set up an account through DriveHQ... The information is sorted by class and then by unit. From the web, you will be able to download the worksheets in .doc (Microsoft Word) format. From your computer you will be able to print it out to fill it in or answer the questions directly on the .doc file and print it out after.

The links to the files are located on the top right side of this blog.... Make sure you click on the correct class... Algebra (periods 3 and 9) and Math A2 (periods 2, 6, and 7).

Please note, although most of the worksheets are located on the web... they are only the ones that Ms. Ihrig created. Sheets that are not included are quite obviously tests and quizzes and worksheets taken from other sources, as well as assignments completed from the text book. So... even if you did all of the worksheets located on the web, you would have only experienced about 60-70% of what was actually completed in class.... (because quizzes/tests are 25% of the grade and weekly points/participation are 20% of the grade). Still, it is a great resource if you have lost a specific sheet or forgot to pick it up on the way out of class.

Happy looking!

Plan for week of 1/2/07

Happy New Year Everyone!

The title of this week is Take A Break... and no it is not Take a Break from learning... We are taking a break from the regular curriculum to work on IEP Goals and Objectives. This will be for both Algebra A students as well as Math A2 students. We will be focusing on the following:

Tuesday: Converting Fractions to Decimals to Percents
Class will include 10 minutes of instruction, student-generated problems, and an online matching game at http://www.bbc.co.uk/skillswise/numbers/fractiondecimalpercentage/comparing/comparingall3/game.shtml
The homework assignments will be to complete the worksheets.

Wednesday: Problems involving Time as well as Volume and Area
There are a ton of problems involving area and volume... don't worry, you are not going to need to memorize the formulas! All you need to do is to learn how to use them.

Thursday: Problems involving Logic and Word Problems
We will be covering 8 unique word problems. On the test, you will be given an opportunity to pick which problems you want to complete. You will not be expected to know how to do all of them at this time.

Friday: Test on the topics

Over the week I will add more information about what each task will entail....

Next week we will continue with the curriculum:

Math A2 students will be starting a unit on Matricies.
Algebra A students will continue the unit on Number Systems.

See you in class!
